The focus of this awe-inspiring week long itinerary is wildlife, wildlife and more wildlife! If you have always dreamt of cruising down tranquil rivers and trekking through steamy primary rainforests in search of pygmy elephants, orangutans, proboscis monkeys, exotic birds, rare amphibians, elusive insects and much more then this trip is for you! What's more, we offer a selection of lodges ranging from more basic rooms to 5 star jungle lodges, making it suitable for budget conscious travellers as well as those looking to enjoy the jungle in style.

    Which parts of Sabah does this trip cover?
    Over eight days you will start from Sandakan, visit Sepilok, the Kinabatangan river, Danum Valley & Tabin Wildlife Reserve before finishing in Lahad Datu. Scheduled land transfers along the whole route — Sandakan, Sepilok, Kinabatangan, Danum Valley, Tabin Wildlife Reserve and Lahad Datu — are included.
    Can I choose my own standard of accommodation?
    Yes — during this tour you have the option to stay in luxury accommodation or more budget-friendly lodges at both the Kinabatangan river and Danum Valley. Our travel consultants will help you select the best options to suit your budget and preferences, and will then provide a full itinerary for you to review.
    What's included in the price?
    You get a guided visit of the Sepilok orangutan and sunbear sanctuaries, river cruises and nature walks at the Kinabatangan river, guided trekking in Danum Valley's primary rainforest, and guided trekking and 4X4 safaris at Tabin Wildlife Reserve. Also included are all land transfers along the route, full-board accommodation with tea, coffee and water, entry and conservation fees, and a nature guide on a join-in basis. A full itinerary will be provided after our travel consultants finalise your trip.
    Will I have a private guide?
    The nature guide is included on a join-in basis, so you'll be sharing your guide with other travellers. If you'd prefer something different, do get in touch and we can talk through the options.
    Can the itinerary be changed or extended?
    Itineraries can be modified and extended to include Turtle Island, scuba diving with Scuba Junkie, or additional nights in any of the wildlife hotspots on the route. If you're keen to visit Sipadan we can help add on a diving package with Scuba Junkie — just ask for more details.
    Where does the trip finish?
    On day eight you depart Tabin Wildlife Reserve for Lahad Datu airport (LDU) or the city, arriving at around 3pm. Drop-off at other destinations is available on request.
    Are there any supplements to be aware of?
    Pricing is based on a minimum of 2 people per booking and is subject to room type, and a high season supplement applies to certain dates. Please contact us for details and we'll confirm exactly what applies to your travel dates.
